Getting healthcare while visiting Gozo
Gozo has public and private healthcare providers, including emergency hospital care, health centres, clinics and pharmacies. The right place to attend depends on how urgent the problem is, the type of treatment needed and your healthcare entitlement.
Service availability, opening hours, charges and reimbursement rules can change. Confirm details directly with the provider and your insurer before relying on them.
Payment and cover for foreign visitors
A valid EHIC or GHIC may give an eligible visitor access to medically necessary state healthcare during a temporary stay. It does not cover private healthcare and is not a substitute for travel insurance. Other visitors may need to pay and seek reimbursement from their insurer.
Carry identification, your entitlement card where applicable, travel-insurance details and a list of medicines or relevant medical information.
